How to keep the fire burning
LEV 6:12-13
God instructed the priests to "keep the fire burning."
LEV 9:24
The Fire came from God
It seems as though our experiences with God fluctuate; we are up and down, in and out, or shall we say at the least our relationship with God is very inconsistent. SO HOW can we "keep the fire burning?"
1.) Remember God is the source of the FIRE
Psalms 85:6 Will YOU (God) not revive us again...
God is the giver of all good things! It's not our talent, our holiness, our good deeds, our singing or our preaching.
2.) We must feed the fire consistently
Fire needs fuel: wood, coal etc.
The WORD is WOOD to keep the fire stoked (see Jer 23:29)
3.) Protect the fire.
Fire has enemies such as water and wind. The fire of God in our hearts has enemies such as distractions, compromise and spiritual complacency.
4.) Share the fire!
What God has done in your life should never be bottled up but it should be broadcast to the world! We must be a witness of revival, our healing, the fire of God in our lives!
Acts 1:8 When the Holy Spirit comes on you you shall receive power to be a WITNESS!
5.) Stay aligned with God's purposes
Revival is not just a feeling, it must be a transformation! Now that I have been touched by God, now that I have been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit; we must ask the Lord what does He want us to do now? Ask, "God what are you calling me to do now that you have ignited my heart, healed my body and renewed my thinking?
